Hey guys. I'm 19 years old, 170 lbs.
The only history I have is an enlarged
heart (athletic heart is what my
cardiologist said) and high blood pressure
which i've had since about 6th grade. I
don't remember the age. He said it was
fine. I haven't had any problems since,
just consistent high blood pressure and he
said that was normal for an enlarged
heart.
I'm am a very health and fit person.
Well...Use to be. I ate extremely well
and worked out 4 x a week.
Anyways, last satuday night I went to bed.
Around 12:30am, my sister started
beating on the door because she was locked
out. This got my dogs startled and they
started barking which freaked me out and
finally got me up. So I went to let my
sister in, then quickly laid back in
bed.
Boom. As soon as I laid down, I
started feeling weird feelings in my
chest...It was as if my heart was beating
slow but hard, like clentching a fist.
Also, I had shortness of breath. I was
breathing, but I felt like I was getting
very little air. Taking big breaths
didnt help. I started to panic and got
up to tell my mother. I blacked out and
hit my teeth on something on the way down.
I came to with my whole family around me
screaming and yelling and all I felt was
my chest hurting really bad. All I could
say was "i don't feel good." then I
blacked out again and came to on the
ground on the other side of the house,
this time with no chest pains, just
shivering severely because I was so cold.
Apparently my parents said they got me up
and walked me a little ways then thats
when I fell the 2nd time. I don't
remember that part at all. Finally the
ambulance came and took me to the
hospital. My blood pressure was bouncing
everywhere when they took it at different
times. It would be way high, then way
low. Finally I got admitted into the
hospital and they did an xray of my chest,
24 hour urine sample, ecg, ekg, mri (of
head), cardiograhm, and 24 hour heart
monitor and they said all tests came back
normal and were well. But, they were
going to refer me to an electophysiologist
or something like that for a tilt table
test and possibly a eps.
I was released tuesday and ever since
then I feel that my heart is feeling
weird. Sometimes it feels as if its
burning, sometimes it feels as if its
really tight, like in a fist. At night,
i'm afraid to go to sleep because its
really discomforting to lay down. I feel
that my heart goes crazy. Sometimes my
neck feels tight. A few other things
that bother me is that when I wake up I
feel really weak. And I can't sneeze, at
all! All of my families and friends tell
me its anxiety and to just let it go, that
whatever happened is in the past and i'm
fine, the doctors said i'm fine, but I
refuse to accept that as the answer.
Another thing I want to point out is that
my blood pressure is really good after the
fall, which I fear is a bad thing for me.
I've always had high blood pressure, and
it was fine because of my big heart. It
would always be 130-140+ over whatever the
bottom number was. Now i'm getting
113-125? Never in my life!
Something happened, I fainted and busted
my teeth!
What's wrong? I'm so scared...And
worried I don't know what to do. I'm not
ready to go...

It does sound like you have some anxiety
going on.
It sneaks up on you sometimes when you
least expect it.
