Can't Stop Gaining Weight! Need Help! Posted: 03-06-06 21:33pm
Hello,
new to this forum, so hello all!
6 years ago, I was diagnosed with
hodgkin's disease. Pre-treatment, my
weight was around 160lbs.
I dropped down to 110-ish during
treatment.
I am 5 years off treatment and have
ballooned to 250lbs (bmi 35 & change).
Weight was never a problem
pre-treatment.
I always feel full (very rarely feeling
*hungry*). Two pieces of pizza, for
example, will hold me all day. I drink
water or diet sodas. I have maybe 4
alcoholic drinks a week.
I also have severe heartburn. Many times
(2-3 times a week), I induce vomiting
after a meal (not a large meal) because
the acid is 'bubbling' into my esophagus
and causing incredible pain.
I am on a prescription heartburn medicine
now (prilosec?). But what's up with the
weight gain? I've gained probably 10-15
pounds this past year.
