Sounds like a pretty good place. You have to pay any rent? I know some places you just pay like 50 bucks or whatever...Is there a limit how long you can live there for>???

Im in a council one too, its really nice and spacious, its surprising. There are some bad estates in really poor areas though. Cctv cameras are installed which helps to stop crime, plus the intercom thing, and theres a care taker around every day to sort any problems, he cleans the hallways/lifts/stairways etc. Good that your place is already furnished. Mine wasnt, but I got a government grant to help buy stuff. It was £500 but I appealed so I got another £500. If theres other stuff you need to buy, you could ask the council about that grant, you dont have to pay it back either. I was told to keep myself to myself when I moved in, but everyone seems friendly enough. Its just bad if you get dumb neighbours who play loud music till 5am at night! They got evicted here for doing that hahaha
if you get income support you shouldnt have to pay any rent. All I pay is £7 a week -which is the water rates money.
