Bleeding At 10 Weeks
Posted: 03-08-06 01:36am

Yesterday morning I got up to find a spot of red blood in my underwear the size of a silver dollar. I am 10 weeks pregnant. I went to the er where they did an ultrasound and found that the baby was fine with a heartbeat of 168. They told me to see my doctor later in the week. It is now 1am and I got up to go to the bathroom, when I wiped there was blood again. For the most part it is just blood, there have been a couple of tiny clots or maybe it was dry blood. I have no pain. Has anybody been through this and how did it turn out? It is a small amount of blood but the fact that it is red and not old looking scares me. I seem to only have it in the morning, like it maybe building up while I sleep. Thanks for your help.

A lot of women have small spots of blood in early pregnancy. It could possibly be from your urethra instead of your vagina anyway. You should not worry unless it is worse than a period and with bad cramps. Just see your dr as recommended and they can further explain what this may be.

You should be fine---as I mentioned, a lot of women have this happen.

This morning when I wiped there was a lot of old looking blood and it was a bit clotty looking, sorry tmi. I was told to save any tissue if I pass any. There were a few little flaky looking things in the toilet but I am not sure if it was dried blood or tissue. Either way they were too small to save. I suppose the fact that there is still a heartbeat means that there is a good chance that it isn't a miscarriage. Thank you fatfamily02 for your reply. It made me feel a bit better.

Hey

Hey I went threw the same exact thing at 6 weeks and again at 9 weeks. The dr had me come in both times to make sure the pregnancy was ok, he said alot of women (though never normal for a preg woman to bleed) are sensitive to sex which makes them bleed whenever penetrated. So I was put on rest till I made it to 12 weeks. We never found the reson for me to be bleeding, but we did kno it was not from the baby, and we were both ok. So that was great! But he said to never take any blood, old or new, easy because it can lead to issues. Good luck hun, and hang in there...

i agree---this doesnt even sound like--"from the baby," maybe a uti, or like you said a sesitivity to sex, or some kind of irritation.

It happened once with my daughter and it was from sex.
