My Diet - Not Eating Enough?
Posted: 03-08-06 05:33am

Hi guys, here is a typical day of my diet and what it has been for about 5 days now:

2 shredded wheat and soya milk - carbs 35g, protein
pear and a soya yoghurt - carbs ?, protein ?, fat ?
Half a red pepper with 1/3 tub houmous
1 actimel - a good bacteria drink - carbs 10g, protein?, fat?
Fish with salad - carbs ?, protein 20g, fat ?
2 rice cakes (not actual cakes! Like crackers)
2 celery sticks with 1/3 tub houmous
meat with veg and a fistful of brown rice - carbs ?, protein 25g, fat?
Soya yoghurt or 1 shredded wheat with soya milk or a boiled egg

i still need to work out carb, protein and fat count for alot of this.....I think my carbs and protein r ok...But im not getting enough fat  . Guys I am starving, last nite I felt faint throughout the nite and im convinced its because im not eating enough...Im not full from these meals and snacks..Do u think the above is enough to eat? Im worried about losing weight. Stan u mentioned olive oil for fat - I was thinking of drizzling some on my salad? Are there any other sources of fat? Maybe I could have a whole tub of houmous a day? I was thinking of adding a small potato to the salad. Also I cant have nuts as they r bad for candida..... where can I put more fruit in? Like berries and stuff...I need to eat berries with soemthing not on their own.

The worst thing about this is that im eating the same everyday and not enjoying my food....

Im still in the stage of taking in all the diet info u guys have given me and adjusting my diet...Its very hard!

Don't worry, take your time. I know exactly what it feels like to hate your diet and not enjoy it. Every once in awhile, even now, I can get like this, but always remember that you're working to enjoy it again and what you're eating now won't be eaten forever. Keep trying, you'll make it! And don't worry, you're not starving! Your body is going through a rough change right now and it's trying to get you to eat the way you used to. Don't listen to it, you're in control. If you are still not feeling full, fat is the best way to go. You can drizzle olive oil on salad, certainly, and add a bit of apple cider vinegar too. Try the dressing recipe I gave you. For extra fat you can also try coconut oil. It has a fruit, almost cookie-like taste to it that you may find a good, temporary replacement for sweets. Careful of the potato, it will spike your sugar. Humus has a good bit of carbs too, be careful of it. It has about 6g per tablespoon I believe. You can add 2-3 berries (depending on the type of berry) to pretty much every snack you have listed there.

Ok, thanks stan. Ive got a huge fear of losing weight because I was so skinny as a kid (underweight), and it took effort to build me up to how I am now - which is still very slim. I feel ill all the time at the moment. I was really hoping the diet would show some improvement after 5 days.....Even just a little....

How long can u go without eating now stan? Or r u still on the same diet?

Yeah, I thought too that after a few days improvement would show, but it's typically just not like this. I'm still on the same diet, yes. I currently am symptom free most of the time but every once in awhile have a minor or almost major crash. I'd say maybe once a week at most. It used to be nearly every day about a month and a half ago. You're supposed to diet for at least 6 months, then you can begin to increase the time between meals and such. I've had instances though where i've gone a good three hours with no effects and then ate. However, I make sure I stay on the diet regardless of how good I feel or if I don't even feel hungry. Keeping the level constant trains the body.
