At you next Dr.S appt I would assume...

I'm 33 weeks and have an appt on monday. It's been 2 weeks since my last appt. I think they start to check just in case you might be dilating too soon.

I'll let you know on monday if he checked me!! Lol
i'm so nervous!!

I had my last appointment at 35 weeks and I don't go back until i'm 37 weeks (36 now) but I haven't been check at all. I'm assuming that she'll do it at my next appointment since i'll only have 3 weeks until my due date. Everyone keeps saying that it really hurts when they check you so i'm not in any rush to find out.

I have to ask with my docs and with macy my doc only checked only once cuz I wanted to b induced and she wanted to see if it was possible.

As for how they check they put on a glove lube up two fingers with surgical lube and stick um in ya and push doen on your belly. With macy it hurt but with liam it hasnt really it ca nb a lil incomfy especially afterwords cuz they use so much lube and it comes back out.

Oh jeez.. Nothing to look forward too lol I was just wondering..

I am 32 weeks.. Almost 33 right now.. I had a doctors appt last thursday, excaly a week ago.. Which I couldnt make it to, I couldnt help it, I was stranded almost an hour away lol and I called to reschedule the recpetionist said no.. She told me to come in tues or thurs between 9 and 3 because it was important the dr see me.. So I go thursday morning around 9:30.. And waited till 12:30 and still didnt get to see the Dr.. So I left.. I had to be at work, I cant afford to lose my job or I cant afford my baby..I went back today (thurs) and even showed up 5 min before they opened.. Only to see that there was already 20 ppl ahead of me.. I asked the receptionist if she thought there was anyway I would be in to see him on time to get to work.. She said no.. So I left.. Im not wasting my whole day there again! They shouldnt quadrouple book there appointments.. So I called from work today to ask if she could please just reschdule my appointment.. She says no she wont do it, tells me to get there right now.. I tell her im at work, ive waited there long enough, I cant leave work, if she could please reschedule me.. She basicly told me im caca outta luck, told me as of 3pm today my dr was going on vacation again (this is the 4th time since ive been seeing him) and wont be back for 2 and a half weeks.. So now im go ing to be over a month without an appointment.. And be over 36 weeks by the time I see him again.. And he has already told me he expects I will have the baby around 36 - 38 weeks so im kinda freaking out.. I wish the receptionist wasnt sucha b*tch lol... My job is oon the line, I couldnt just get up and leave cuz she said so..Ugh...

Dilating
Posted: 03-10-06 06:32am

I'm shocked that you get checked to see if your dilating when you have had no sighns of labour or problems! I am so glad I dont live in the states because when ever I see a baby being born over their it seems very invasive ( women hooked up to i.V's and monitors) over here our womens hospitals are midwifery lead so you are in charge and only if there is a problem do obs get involved, we are encouraged to have acitive labors with birthing balls and pools which are available at the hospital. And they defiantly dont check to see if your dilated unless there have been problems or your in labor. Why do they check you if there has been no problems or your not in labor as it is not a very nice thing to have.
