I had a ct scan and it was reported that I
had a mildly enlarged uterus and a left
ovarian cyst (appears simple) 3 x 1.8 cm.
The mild enlargement of uterus is 5.5 cm
in ap diameter and 7-8 cm in transverse
diameter. From my research, that is not
very enlarged, if at all. However, I have
extreme pelvic pain. Like there is a
boulder in my bladder and it's going to
burst any minute. Could this be from
fibroids? From what I read on these
boards, no one with these fibroids, even
huge ones, seems to say they had any pain
or discomfort! What else could this be?
I have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled for
wednesday but I seriously don't know if I
can hold out until then!

Didn't your Dr. Give you anything for
pain? Have you tried a heating pad with
some tylenol or you might talk to yor
pharmacist about your situation and see
what he or she might recommend over the
counter that is not by presc. Call your
dr in the morning and let him know that
you are sill having pain and that you need
something for it.
Good luck!
Hope you get some answers soon!

Thanks for your reply. I have been on a
heating pad pretty nonstop but more for
the back than the pelvic area. I can't
explain it, it's not a crampy thing, it's
a stretched out thing. I'm going to move
it to the front soon though because at
this point i'll do anything. I'm taking
aspirin. Nothing else. I took off of
work today but I can't take off until the
ultrasound wednesday! And even then, it
will be another 2-3 days for results,
maybe over the next weekend. Aggghhh.
If I can't stand it anymore, I will go to
the emergency room and hope they do an
ultrasound and diagnose it quicker so I
can get some treatment. It's just that I
have heavier periods for the past 6 months
or so, with clots and lots of cramping and
pain, but absolutely no interim bleeding
at all. Bleeding between periods seems
to be a symptom of endometrial cancer and
other serious disease, so i'm left
thinking this has to be adenomyosis or
fibroids, but no one else seems to say
they have constant pain with those things,
only during their periods.
