I've read a lot about bi-polar disorder,
(and from seeing the sleeping habits and
just the random bouts of
happiness/depression I have) i'm wondering
if I might actually have it. Honestly
there are times when I just get this
feeling from random happiness, it's not
even like euphoria.. I can feel it all
over like it's within me.. A..
Warmth starts from my forehead and spreads
out, washes over me so to speak and when
it does it I get happier than I would
while impaired by any drug or drink.. :\
and it'll last for a couple of days or so
and then I either really get depressed or
I get angry/irritated with most things
(even people and things I normally love).
It wouldn't be that weird of a feeling
if I didn't feel like the chemical changes
were as obvious as they are, but I know
whatever is wrong with me isn't normal
because it doesn't happen just from
anything occurring in my life, it happens
on its own. Does anyone have any
suggestions of what might be the problem?

Talk to a psychiatrist. Start working on
getting diagnosed asap.
Mental health is a tricky thing and it may
take a very long time before you are
diagnosed correctly.

Is there anywhere I can go to get help for
free? I have absolutely no insurance, and
I can't afford to go on a regular basis.
I just want it to stop because even though
the happiness feels as good as it does, I
feel like it's ruining my life :(

Hard to find, but you could find out if
any of the local colleges will do it for
next-to-nothing, if not for free. Even
if you are not a student they usually have
a clinic for the community.
You may have to deal with a series of
therapists until you find the right one,
but you could do worse than ask.
that place is in michigan.
Each state is suppose to provide some sort
of help for people with mental illness.
The government spends a little over a
billion dollars a year in grants to help
treat people with problems like yours and
mine.
Some places like the one I linked above
dont help people unless they first have
some kind of history. Bipolar disorder
can run in the family.
