I Need Help, And Answers.please!! Posted: 03-10-06 15:16pm
I just had a miscarriage the 7th of
febuarary, the dr, sent the miscarriage to
the lab and everything came out. I
stopped bleeding after a week then about
a week ago I started to bleed again (just
spotting), my breasts hurt and im
nautious, I though maybe I was already
pregnant again but I wouldn't be spotting.
I took a home pregnancy test and an
ovulation test the same day and they both
came back positive, im not sure how. But
now I went to the dr and he said that I
may need a dnc but why if everything came
out. I had to get my blood checked also
to see if my hcg's are rising agian. What
is happening??Can you get pregnant while
there is still hcg's in your system?? Can
you still get pregnant if you are
spotting??? What is going on with my
body?? Im so scared... I just want to be
pregnant. Not have to wait another 3
months.. Anyone with any advice.

from my prior experience of having a
miscarriage 1 year ago, I just let u know
my experience...
When I had a miscarriage though I bleed
everything out, the gyn got me to do a
d&c to make sure that every bit of the
sac, foetus and things involved with the
pregnancy was removed. The gyn also did a
blood work to make sure that the hcg level
dropped, if it didn't it will still show a
positive for pregnancy. When the blood
work shows that the hcg levels have
dropped, the doc also does a check up to
see if there is any infection due to the
d&c or miscarriage. This is to make
sure that everything was done properly so
that after resting for about 2months to
6months depending on ur health and
emotional aspect, u can start trying for a
baby again and that there will not be a
side effect due to the miscarriage. Ur
body needs time to heal so that it can go
through another pregnancy smoothly and
healthy.
So if u r having problem with the past
miscarriage see a gyn about it... If u
haven't done a d&c then, it's good to
check if that miscarriage is causing all
this mess in ur body system now... Since
it's about one month after ur
miscarriage...
But then again, u could get pregnant
immediately becos right after a
miscarriage u tend to be quite fertile
too.
So get ur gyn or doc to do a proper run
down step by step on all the checkups,
bloodwork, urine test, maybe an ultrascan
and narrow it to the problem..... Instead
of jumping to do a d&c...
For all u know u might be pregnant but an
early stage... But u can't be ovulating n
be pregnant at the same time, can u? I
mean, I have not heard about this.. So
maybe check with ur doc....... To be
safe.....
Take care dear,
let us know what happens..

It may be possible that you were carrying
twins also. I dont know if he did an
u/sound or not but a lot of women pass
one fetus to carry the other to term. If
he did one or if he didnt I would ask him
to do another before you have dnc. Just
in case you are still pregnant or like
other poster said--pregnant again.
