Pregnancy After Hysterectomy
Posted: 03-12-06 01:09am

My daughter is 33 and had a hysterectomy 8 years ago and now she has had a pregnancy test that shows positive and Dr. Has done a ultrasound that shows twins and possibly a 3rd baby. He said she is one of the rare women who had an extra uterus. But we are still very concerned that this will not be able to go to full term as the uterus is weak. My aunt and uncle had a similar problem but it was he who had surgery and found he had another set of tubes so those little devils still got through and they had another daughter. We are hoping and praying it will all go okay.

Wow that is wonderful. I hope it all goes okay. I will defineatly be praying. How far along is she?

How could they miss another uterus after doing a hysterectomy? Wow--this is wonderful.

And how did they miss a second set of tubes--wow.

.God was not finished with their child bearing--i guess. That has to be .God. I dont know if you believe--but I do believe and I know when I see .God working. .God bless you all.

Hmmm odd! My surgeon missed my uterus when he did my hyst.

It is called uterus didelpyhs (literally meaning double uterus).

Although mine was not true uterus didelphys - I had a rudimentary horn (which ruptured and my surgeon failed to notice the "main" uterus), although he did remove my good tube as the tube I have rmaining is either blocked or malformed.

If you need more info on this condition let me know as I have a ccrued a wealth of knowledge finding myself in such an unusual position.

They think she is about 3 or 4 months but are planning another sonogram as soon as they can get it scheduled. Im just worried she wont be able to carry them long enough for all to go well. The odds are not in her favor. But yes I do believe that if she does it is surely gods will. That is the only answer I have to this happening. But will keep you updated on what happens. I keep telling her not to get her hopes to high but it will hurt wether it be now or a couple months from now. Told her she may also be on complete bed rest for the later part of the pregnancy. Thanks for the prayers she needs them now.

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I truly believe in miracles and I pray that she will be able to carry the babies full term.

I was just wanting to see how your daughter is doing through all of this, have they done another ultrasound, if so how are the babies?

Take care and all my prayers be with you and your family
