Morning Sickness
Posted: 03-13-06 12:05pm

I don't know how i'm going to make it. I am sick all day and all night and it is pure torture. I feel a little better after I throw up but most of the time that doesn't happen. I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and this started about 4 or 5 days ago. I also feel better after I eat but finding foods that appeal to me is hard. I really hate this.

How long should I expect this to last? I can't really enjoy being pregnant if I feel like i'm going to die. :(

I felt rough till about 13 or 14 weeks! But everyone is different!

Try to eat little and often rather than 3 meals a day.. That should help as the waiting too long before eating made me feel even worse!

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh hun I wouldnt' want to trade places with you. I remember those days. It stopped for me at about 15 weeks. I have been 4 weeks puke free and it's wonderful. I do know that if I put off eating (like I am doing now) it makes me a little ill.

They say just because you are sick, dont' not eat, (love the double neg?) force yourself to eat a little something. It helped me. I didnt' eat greasy foods or very spicy foods.

Good luck girl....Look on the brightside only about 7 more weeks to go...Give or take a few.

Ginger tea and lemon drops worked for me. Also making sure that my stomach was never empty was a big help. If you can stand breads nad crackers and applesauce, those things helped settle my stomach so I could eat something else.

Oranges helped me. Made me feel lots better and settled my stomach so that I could eat a meal....But it wouldn't always stay down.

I was on meds for the first trimester cause I was losing so much weight from throwing up.

Here are some tips if the doc doesn't give you anything.

1. Always wait at least 1/2 hour before or after eating before drinking anything.
2. Carry lifesavers (now I now why they're named that! Lol) for those times you're in public
3. Like someone else said, eat small meals frequently instead of 3 large ones.

Worse comes to worse get the doc to prescribe something. I was on diclectin. My son is perfectly healthy (ok he's a lil crazy! But what almost 9 month old isnt?? Lol)
