Info On Using Basal Temperature Charting Posted: 03-14-06 08:31am
Hi everyone,
i know some of us might be wondering what
is basal temp or how to do a charting.....
So I thought I will put in this
information in a new post, for easy
access.................. Good luck in
ttc...
To take basal temperature, u will need to
get a basal thermometer which costs about
$8 to $9. U cannot use the normal
clinical thermometer. A basal
thermometer can detect very precisely the
body's temperature and is usually good to
get it in the digital form, so u have up
to 2 decimal places.
Next u can join the basal temperature
charting online site which is free for
recording temperature, any special
medication u r following and more options
at ....... Www.Fertilityfriend.Com website.
U need to take the temperature at the same
time everyday to have a consistent reading
n prediction of
ovulation/pregnancy/miscarriage/period
coming...
U should take the temperature at waking up
point after atleast 4 hours of sleep,
before getting up to go toilet or drink
water or anything. U should take the
temperature while resting/lying down in
bed position. Any getting up or movement
will trigger the temperature and it might
not be accurate.
Keep a paper n pen n the thermometer next
to ur bedside so that u dun have to get up
and go n find for it before taking the
temperature.
U can use the basal thermometer vaginally
or by mouth. Whichever, way u decide
comfortable, stick by that way throughout
all the temperature taking days.
Temperature should stay higher than normal
temperature after ovulation for atleast 14
to 18 days. Then u know u have a good
chance that u might be pregnant. But if
the reading drops towards ur expected
period day, then u know ur period is
coming soon. It works something like
that.
I hope this information helps u in
charting ur temperatures.
