If you really want an abortion, get one.
Think about it hard first, though. Don't
do anything you'll regret. It won't
affect your physical health, I promise.
There are enough children out there who
need a home, really, and if your child
isn't a perfectly healthy white newborn it
doesn't stand much of a chance. I know if
I ever have children i'm adopting.
I'm not, of course, encouraging you to get
an abortion. Just do what you think would
be best for you.

I wanted to offer an opposing view from
'if you have the baby millions of people
won't look down on you' and 'you should
learn to keep your legs closed'. It's all
very well and good to warn someone off
making the same mistakes that you did, but
you can do it in a nicer way, surely?
Besides, everyone's making adoption out to
be a perfect solution, when many kids grow
up in foster care because nobody wanted to
adopt them and then they got too old.
Okay, off the subject.
And not to be pedantic, but an abortion
*is* facing the consequences. It's scary
and painful and a very hard decision to
make for most women.
Shutting up now. :)

That is right , you must do what is the
right thing to do for you, the baby-to be
and all considered. I do not know how
far along you are but if you are early
enough in your pregnancy you can abort
continue on with the pregnancy and raise
the child or adopt, it is your choice.
You should talk to your mom and see what
she thinks but the choice is yours.
Good luck!

Alex, if you are pregnant (and you might
not be, so this whole conversation might
be irrelevant!), and you decide to have an
abortion, it does not make you a bad
person. Contrary to what many people
think, an abortion is one way of dealing
with the "consequences" of getting
pregnant - it isn't just a procedure; it's
a dramatic and life-changing one. In
fact, some think that a fifteen-year-old
girl raising a baby is the selfish way of
going about things. For everyone
slamming her for wanting an abortion,
please try to keep your thoughts to
yourselves. Not everyone is pro-life,
and she came to the forum for help.
You're offering her nothing but cruel
judgement. Having an abortion is a
deeply personal choice that requires a lot
of soul-searching and consideration.
Adoption is another option, if you are so
inclined. I don't believe abortion is a
selfish choice, but it is a serious one
that shouldn't be made lightly. If you
are pregnant and decide to get one, please
make sure it is at an accredited clinic
and that you talk to it with at least your
boyfriend, if not your parents. This
isn't something you should keep to
yourself. And absolutely remember that
as the woman, you and you only decide
whether or not to have one. Let us know
how things work out.
P.S. If you get an abortion at a facility
like planned parenthood, your chances of
serious side effects are slim to none.
Death accounts for only 0.1% of abortion
cases, and that statistic is derived from
poor reactions to anesthesia.
Complications and perforations of the
uterus are rare and should not be meant to
deflect a woman from having an abortion if
she chooses to. A woman actually has a
higher risk of dying in childbirth than
she does from having an abortion.

Where are you getting all this? Yes,
maybe you have to sign something, but
believe me that is true of all invasive
medical procedures. I had to sign a
waiver when I had my tonsils out, for
heaven's sake.

allow me to draw your attention to the
number contained in the first paragraph.

No its not a way of dealing with the
consequences
she chose to have sex without birth
control, so having an abortion isn't the
right choice! Many many girls have sex
without birth control and then have
abortions like 9 and 10 times, it's not
fair for the innocent life inside of her
to be 'gotten rid of' because she wasn't
responsible enough to put on a condom!
Don't tell us to keep our opinions to
ourselves, if you haven't noticed this is
a public forum and we'll post what we
want.
Thank you :)

I wasn't encouraging her to get an
abortion and although it's a personal
choice, I don't exactly agree with women
who have multiple abortions, either.
I didn't ask everyone to resist posting
their thoughts, but I did ask that they
please show courtesy to others and not
pass judgement.

You might think of going to the abortion
forum, not the debate abortiun forum if
you are thinking of an abortion as this
forum isn't really the right forum to talk
about abortion and ignore the one's that
are anti-abortion as I said before it is
your choice and having an abortion will
not make you sterile and all of that. You
do need tofind out 1st if you are
pregnant.
Good luck!

is that addressing me? I never said to
keep your opinions to yourselves.
Personally, I firmly believe that a baby
should never, ever be seen as consequence
to an action. As you said, it's a
potential human, and that shouldn't be a
punishment. There are enough unwanted
children in the world- why make more?
That's about as syrupy as I get, i'm
afraid. There's also a lot about women's
rights that I won't bother to go into,
because I don't think i'd get anywhere.

Im getting it from being forced to go to
an abortion clinic! Ive seen it all
thanks. And no I didnt have one because I
realized my mom cant make me so I left.
Ps your website doesnt work.
I dont have a bunch of numbers but if you
go around believing it wont happen to you
because its so unlikely your an fool cuz
its gotta happen to someone for there to
be numbers and what says u arent the
one?
And to rasuyoung if she wanted support to
back her abortion she should have gone to
the abortion forum not the pregnancy
forum. None of the pregnant women here
would ever abort their child unless it was
medically necessary well all .W.A.N.T to b
pregnant here!

Well she already posted that she she'd
feel really guilty if she had an abortion,
and that she was thinking about keeping it
or giving it up for adoption.
I'm pretty sure we're past this.

No it wasn't addressed to you rodge
and when I say consequences i'm not
talking about the actual child. I think
if someone decides to open their legs and
have sex without protection its their
responsibility to carry it to term and if
they decide they don't want it then give
it up.
A lot of people will agree
you're right there are a lot of unwanted
children, but there are also a lot of
families that can't have babies.

Ppl who say well theres only a small
chance of it even happening and it wont be
me are naive because its got to happen to
someone for there to b a statistic right?
So y would you be special? Get it?
This is not saying im not going to get in
the car because of car accidents because
thats silly you have to get in the car to
go places but people who think my abortion
wont go wrong why risk it? I would rather
die giving life than die taking it

great! They can adopt the unwanted
children. Then everybody will be happy.
I wish people really did, instead of going
to all that trouble and expense to have
their "own" baby. What's so important
about genetic material anyway? That
possibly sounded really bad, but whatever.
Macy, let's just agree to disagree. Okay?
