I recently found out that a family member
was diagnosed with aids. She is from
arizona and has recently moved here to
tennessee to live with my parents. I feel
that there has not been enough thought
given to anything other than getting her
here - there hasnt been any plans made as
to who her doctor will be or anything. No
one has any idea what to expect during
this illness. I am very angry that this
is all being taken so lightly and feel
like if I dont do something nothing will
get done at all. But I will be the first
to admit that I just don't know what to
do. I was wondering if anyone could tell
me what to expect and what I should do to
get her the help she needs- because as I
said I don't think it will get done unless
I do it. And I can hardly expect her to
as she is mentally retarded. I am ready
and willing to do as much as I possibly
can to help her. I just don't know where
to even start. Please help.

First of all set her up for a visit with
an id doctor. Then while you are there
talk with the social worker. You can also
get the help you need by contacting your
local aids organization in your area.
