Bus Accident
Posted: 03-15-06 12:54pm

I was in a bus accident this morning. I won't go into details but I got a little banged up. Nothing serious just some bruises. Now everyone is telling me that I should sue the bus company, but it wasn't the bus driver's fault, some jack butt pulled out of nowhere and tried to cut the bus off. Everyone is telling me to go to the er. I'm just bruised!! I talked to my doc and she said m&m is more than likely fine (protected by ab muscles and floating around in all that fluid) and that if I go to er they're just going to monitor heartbeat and possibly perform a us then send me home. Which to me sounds like a waste of time. I guess I should point out that I have felt him move since then. He feels normal to me.

What would you guys do if you were me?

I would just keep an eye on things if u feel a change even a small one (like more tired etc) I would take a trip to the er never know(internal bleeding is not visible.) as for suing the bus company im happy you didnt ur right the bus driver did what he had too if you feel the need to sue anyone sue the driver(of the car) cause he is the main problem driving like an fool should have his license revoked!! I hope everything is okay and keep us updated tigres!!

If all feels normal to you and you aren't seeing any discharge or blood in your panties, I think you're doing the right thing by just staying home and relaxing. If you start to feel pain or have discharge or blood, then be sure to get your butt to the er asap!!! But other than that, just continue to take it easy.

If there hasnt' been any leaking of fluids or blood then I think that you are ok. If your skoot is moving around and stuff then it's not a problem if youstart to cramp or contract. Then maybe you need to go.

I hope that you are alright and there aren't any underlying problem like your back or something. Just rest and relax and make sure you take it easy and not too much walking. (if you can avoid it.)

I think its still best to be checked out coz here they give you anti-d whatever (not sure the exact name of med) injection if you had an accident, a fall, or anything that would prob cause trauma to your lo. Its prob better to be on the safe side.

Here's the thing. Today...You might not feel or see anything but bruises...But you don't know for certain that more damage wasn't done. If you end up having problems with your health or your babies as a result of this accident...You wont be able to sue for anything if you havn't seen a doc when it happened so that the incident is documented. I live in ontario, canada. Last year...I had a second degree sprain in my ankle from stepping down off the city bus and twisting my ankle. I had to file a report with the bus company and their insurance people. Thing is...This was no one's fault at all. But...Because my one foot was still on the bus step when it happened...They had to cover all medical bills that weren't covered by our public health care, days missed at work and taxi bills from going to the doctors and work when I finally was able. You're best to see a doctor just in case!!! I hope you and baby are fine...But you don't want to be the one to pay if something does happen as a result of this accident. You could have neck or back injuries that you still don't know about.
Best of luck!!

I have my regular doctor's appt today. When I go in she'll check to make sure that the m&m is okay. Today I feel right as rain. Only pain is in the bruised areas if they touch something or I move them around. Ankle feels fine too. The m&m has been moving around like normal. So i'm sure it's all good, but since i've got my regular doc appt today it won't hurt to have it checked. But I was not going to spend 4 hours in the er only to have them monitor his heartbeat and send me home.

I go crazy when I have to sit for long periods and do nothing. Plus the er always makes me go a little crazy and I start thinking about beating up the nurses. Especially when I see them just standing there talking for half an hour and i'm trying to find out what's going on.

I would get checked out just incase. If anything does happen down the road, as a result of the accident then the hospital will have your back....They'll have everything on record.

I don't understand why people would wait like 8 hours in the e.R. My thoughts are..If I haven't died within 2 hours...My as$ is going home!! Lol....But when it comes to the baby, i'd def. At least try to get an appt. A.S.A.P. Which is sounds like you did so good luck..I'm sure he's fine!! (if the kicks in the ribs haven't let you know that already!)

I work in er the best thing to tell them is that you are having difficulty with breathing, that generally gets you in faster. Their is also thosse walk in clinics, sometime, they are faster, they are similar to er because I do realize that if you are not sick by the time you get in to er you will be with
all of those caughing and vommiting and all.
Let us know what your doctor says and make sure he charts you being in the bus accident in case something does happen down the road some.
Good luck!

went to the docs yesterday. The blue m&m is fine. Fetal heartrate is good, movement is fine and he's turned head down. I didn't think that they did that this early. Guess that's why I can breathe again but now i'm peeing even more!!! Had the glucose tolerance test which had the m&m having a dance party in my tummy. I swear he was on a sugar high. Iron levels are good. They're attributing my dizziness and overall tiredness to stress. So i'm healthy the m&m is healthy and on sunday we'll have 9 weeks to go!! Yeah!

I swear my angel was about to burst out of my belly when I took the glucose test!!!!! I had an empty stomach to boot!! Wow...I was enjoying every second of it though...I don't know that I would;ve been able to wait to get blood drawn without feeling her...I'm the biggest wimp when it comes to needles!!

(but I have 2 tattoos, 7 holes in each ear, and a toung ring) but again, i'm terrified of needles!! Lmao!

Wow...I'm more retarded than I thought!

You're a sister in the piercehood (as I call it)!!! To look at me you'd think I was totally straightlaced come bathing suit time tho everyone knows the truth! I've got 3 tats on my back 2 of which I designed myself (1 is a dominatrix fairy, one is a sort of tribal bleeding rose). I've got a tat on my belly. It's also pierced. I used to have the tongue until it got annoying and I took it out and let it close (i had it for 3 years before I took it out). I've got 3 holes in each ear and I used to have something else pierced but I let that close too after I got married. Hubby didn't like. I'm not scared of needles tho, i'm a little masochistic.

I think the baby-to-be was telling you that he/she was hugry, see you are not so afraid of needles after-all. Souds like things are in great shape and stress is normal, even without the accident, just being checkedis enought to raise your blood pressure, I bet you are getting anxious. I am just happy for you that things are going well!
The best to you and yours!
