What can replace Lorazapam without addiction or side effects Posted: 03-15-06 14:07pm
I have been taking Lorazapam for 2 years
and found out this medication is not to be
used long term.
I am terrified of starting something new
because of all the side-effects I have
read about. I am wondering if there is
any medication that is not addictive, and
has very little side effects?
I would really appreciate any input you
may have, to help me overcome my fears of
starting a new medication..thanks
You might consider using some of the
selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors
(SSRI) such as Paroxetine in lieu of
Lorazapam. SSRIs have fewer side effects
and don’t cause addiction. Before using
an SSRI, you should consult your doctor or
psychiatrist first. Effects usually occur
3-4 weeks after of regular, daily
consumption of medication so you can
evaluate then if the drug is working for
you, or not.
