Just go speak to a dermatologist about it.
They will tell you your options, accutane
is not the only option.
Best of luck to you.

Hey Lauren Posted: 03-22-06 15:00pm
Hey I had the same problem for years and
stuggled with it as well other teenagers
can be very hurtful a dermatologist would
be a good thing for you personally I
managed to clear mine up using distilled
witch hazel on my face 3 times a day and
washing with clearsil in the morning at
lunch and o before I went to sleep come to
think a hell of alot but managed to get
there eventually now its a distant memory
hang in there kiddo and im sure one day
you will be able to look back and this
will all be a distant memory.

Although it's not for everyone, a lot of
teenagers go on birth control to: have a
form of protection, reduced cramping, and
yes.. Even acne. Birth control in a lot
of cases is prescribed for acne, so this
may be a good answer for you?
The subject is always hard to bring up to
a parent (which I strongly advice you do
-- i'm 19 and I still ask and tell my
mother everything, it's just good
communication) but just remember the
facts; although young it keeps you
protected and helps with health. Make
sure you look into all the facts on the
birth control first though; I don't advice
taking yasmin. It's great for acne,
awful for overall emotional health.
Hope everything works out! 8)

Hey lauren.
I had acne very bad when I was 15 too.
My parents got the doctor to put me on
tetracyclene. I had a feeling it
wouldn't work and it didn't. I had heard
about accutane and wanted to try it. My
uncle had told me he'd taken it when he
was younger and it had worked miraculously
for him.
I eventually got on it and it does work.
It basically dries your skin out and works
to get rid of your pimples everywhere.
I had none of the side effects so I was
very happy and after two "sessions" (about
6 months) they were gone.
By 17 I guess i'd grown out of the super
bad acne.
Now i'm 29 and my acne is gone. I get a
few here and there but nothing I worry
about at all.
I thought i'd have it forever but it goes
away.
Good luck and don't worry, if you don't
pick you won't have bad scarring and when
you're 20 you'll be your true beautiful
self.

Hi there! Lots of good advice. It
definitely starts with inner
health...Eating properly is a big key to
the puzzle.
In the interest of full disclosure, I am
an arbonne rep...So the person who
recommended arbonne, of course I support
that notion! However, I do want to clear
up that it is not "all natural." that is
a term thrown around a lot by people, but
most products touted as such are not
really "all natural." they must, by law,
include certain preservatives that are
technically created in a lab, and
therefore not "all natural." all natural
products would probably have to be stored
in your refrigerator! However, our
products are botanically based and use a
minimum of pure scientifically created
ingredients to create products that are
pure, safe, and beneficial. Just wanted
to clear that up! (excuse the acne pun,
ba dum ching!)
good luck with this...Don't give up, just
find the product that is right for you,
and in the meantime...Eat better,
exercise, and get all of your sleep!
You'd be surprised how much this affects
your skin!
