Anyone Ever Had a Cyst Half As Big As Their Ovary? Posted: 03-15-06 16:47pm
I just got my reslts from a transvaginal
ultrasound and it states that my left
ovary is 3.6 cm and the largest cyst in it
is 1.5 cm and my right ovary is 4.6 cm and
the largest cysyt in that one is 1.2 cm
big. I was wondering if anyone else had
experienced this and what might possibly
be the treatment for these. I am trying
to concieve and obviously I have pcos so I
don't really know what to do or where to
go from here. I have an appointment with
my gyn tomorrow morning so I hope he can
shed some light on this and help me to
concieve and finish out my family.

My mother use to get many cyst on her
ovaries. She always had them removed.
She had trouble trying to concieve because
of this and also because my father had low
sperm count. But she has 2 children. I'd
say have them removed obviously..

I Had a Huge Cyst & Huge Ovary! Posted: 09-03-06 18:22pm
Hi crystal,
i'm 25 yrs old, female. Last month I had
laproscopic surgery on my left ovary. My
Dr. Was looking around inside of me &
found a huge cyst about 10cm. Big. That
was covering my uterus. Nobody knew I had
the huge cyst, always thought my uterus
was very big. My Dr. Told me I had to
have surgery, he just had to open me up to
remove the cyst.
On wednesday august 30, 2006, I had open
surgery. My ob/gyn removed half of my
left ovary. My ovary was very swollen
& really big about 7.5 x 3.8 x 4.8 cm,
I thought the whole ovary was going to be
taken away, only half was taken. Also my
left fallopian tube was removed.
I also have endometriosis, besides all of
that other stuff. Every month with my
periods they are irregular, heavy, lots of
cramps. For me surgery was the only thing
that could take care of the problem,
before it got any worse.
Have you tried birth control pills to try
& shrink you cyst?
I think that your Dr. Will probably want
to do surgery, possibly to try & take
care of your cysts. I had laproscopic
surgery done last month, that's a tiny
inscision under the belly button, when the
cyst is found your Dr. Will make a couple
of other tiny cuts, & try to either
drain or remove the cyst.
You will be out with medication through an
iv, the whole time. So you won't feel a
thing. The recovery time is about 2 wks.
I'm just letting you know in case your Dr.
Wants to do surgery. This way you won't
be scared about it.
