Mri Inaccuracy Or Muscle/ligament Issue? Posted: 03-16-06 04:05am


I have lower back pain only when sitting in a chair. Started 6 months ago.. On and off.. And mostly off.. Until I started water sport activities again (kitesurfing, windsurfing). I am 33. My left back muscle feels stiff and hurts when it does..(feels I may have overstretched it but waited 3 months and no real imrpovement!) mri results are all negative but I have a mild case of numbness in buttocks and thigh area rcently when I am in a chair (i have office job). I am totally buffled. 1. Could a ligament or muscle strain cause bulging disc related sciatia symptoms? 2. Can my disc be bulging only when I sit in a chair.. But not show up in mri because I was lying down? Many thanks..Best to all back painers..
