Terrible Skin Problems While Taking Yasmine! Posted: 03-16-06 10:44am
I have been on yasmine since october. I
switched to it from the ortho evra patch
because of all the blood clot hysteria
concerning the patch. Well I miss my
patch because my skin looks aweful! I
never broke out like this before,
especially on my forehead and back. Until
this pill I don't think I ever had a
forehead pimple before, ever! Has this
happened to anyone else? Also, I am on
proactive anyway for my skin and have been
for years ans it still doesn't clear it
up. Plus I want to eat all the time on
yasmine, it's like I can't get full or
something.

I have been on yasmine for about a year
and I havent had any extra skin problems,
however I have gained a few pounds. I
dont know if thats because I got married
or the pill. Just thought i'd let you
know what I know , thanks bye
I was not on yasmine but on the ring
(nova, nuva- I can't remember) and anyway
it worked a whole lot better for me than
other forms except I also had terrible
skin problems with it. It had been a
long time since my skin looked like that-
how embarassing! It was enough to make
me quit and I was wondering if any other
people had that problem with their birth
control. I had always heard it can
improve skin!

I have just started cerazette which is the
mini pill... My first ever cp.. And
after about... 2 weeks that ive been on
it... My skin looks awful.. I have
patches and really icthy pimples all
over..... Ive had a rash too... Sucks.

The pill has varied side effects for each
person. I have heard that yasmin is not
as good for your skin, though. Your want
for food is normal as well - birth control
generally doesn't make you gain weight,
but it has the effect you described - you
never feel full, or you will crave foods,
so you end up eating more. Try eating
healthy snacks like carrots.
Linlin, although I don't know a lot about
the mini-pill, since you have just started
cerazette your acne may be from your
body's adjustment to the pill. After a
couple of months, your skin may get better
after you have adjusted.
