Is Anyone Taking Lorazapam (ativan) Posted: 03-16-06 14:21pm
I have been taking this medication for
almost 2 years and just found out that it
should not be taken long term..I am
usually taking 1 to 3 a day.
I was wondering if your body becomes
immune to it after a long period of
time...Does anybody know?

i believe it does. How many mg do you
take each day? Are they .5 mg each?

Yes, I am taking .5 mg a day. I just
started seeing another doctor and he told
me that this medication should not be
taken long term.
I am seeing him again next week and he
will prescribe something else for me. I
am afraid of trying something new, because
of the side effects it may have.
I get very anxious just thinking about it.

Have you had your appointment yet? How
did it go? Did he switch meds?

Hi jenrninmi, I went to the doctor
yesterday, and he prescribed clonazampam
0.5 mg. I have to take that for 2 days,
then start effexor, 1/2 a capsule for 3
days then a full capsule for 4 days, and
have another appointment with him next
week, because he wants to see what effects
I am having, if any.. He is a really
good doctor, and explained the medication
really well. I hope it goes well for
me.
