Question For All Pro-lifers.
Posted: 03-16-06 19:54pm

I just wanted to ask this question to all those who are pro-life out there...

What would you do if you were in a situation where you had unfortunately became pregnant as the result of rape and you are not emotionally/physically/financially able to have that child?

Well if I were raped I would go to the hospital where I would be examined and given the contraceptive pill so I don't get pregnant.

but the emergency contraceptive pill is only 98% effective... What if it doesn't work?

And also, on that note, the ec pill stops the already fertilized egg from implanting itself in the uterus, so is this not also seen as a form of abortion?

if is a very big word, what if you did not get pregnant, what if you did not get raped. Most pro lifers make exceptions for such things has rape and maternal health, this is a misconception made worse by the odd fanatical pro lifer and both sides have fanatics. It is also compounded by the fact that pro choice want to believe the worst of pro lifers [ though none will admit that ] just like most pro lifers want to believe the worst of pro choicers [ they will not admit that either ].This argument has been done many a time and apart from the usual religious fanatics and die hard pro lifers most say that in these cases abortion is an option.

okay well..For one I considering myself more pro-life than pro-choice...So yeah you must think right off that I believe that women who get raped shouldnt have abortions...Well wrong..I believe that if women are raped or something is wrong with the mother/baby...Then I believe in my heart that its okay to terminate...But other than that ..Everything I believe is right along the lines of being pro-life..

In reference to your question I was a strict pro-lifer when I was a virgin. I lost my virginity 3 months ago and even though I haven't gotten pregnant i've began to understand the pro-choice stance better since I am always at risk for pregnancy now that I am sexually active.

that's right.

Another "eiri" example. Afraid of being pregnant but playing with fire equals agree with abortion.

It's not that I believe abortion is an okay thing to do, nor do I believe it should be done without seriously thinking it through first, but I believe there are right reasons to have it done.

And I also believe it's up to the woman to decide what's right, not other people who believe their morals are right for everyone else. I've always been pro-choice and while I understand and respect the point-of-view of the pro-life side, I just have hard time with other people telling you what to do with your body.

And on a side note, what about people who are being responsible by using contraception but it fails (which happens a lot more often than I think people realize)?

admitting your problem is the first step... Maybe if you finished school instead of popping children out, you would be a wiser person. Doubt it, but it couldn't hurt.

i don't worry that i'm pregnant, because I take birth control. But nice try anyway. Fires in houses are (outside of fireplaces) accidents. But, you still have to use the stove to cook.

glad to know you don't have a fire alarm in your home. After all, nothing to worry about, right?

What is so wrong with a fire extinguisher and a fire alarm? If they fail then you end up using a fire hose, their is nothing wrong with that, they save lives too.
I sleep well, I do not worry about getting prenant either.
