I'm 45 and Diabetic...Do I still need to Use Birth Control?

I'm 45 and a diabetic- In April 2006 I will have not had a period in 2 years. My doctor has recommend still using birth control until it has been 3 years. I became separated and divorce during this time. Do I still need to use birth control?

If you don’t have sexual contact, you don’t need birth control pills. I am unfamiliar with the experience of not menstruating for 2 years while on birth control pills. You may want to consult your gyencologist, as this does not seem normal.
