I was diagnosed with dilated
cardiomyopathy in march 2005. At that
time my ef was at approximately 40%. My
cardiologist put me on lisinopril 20mg
once a day. In february 2006, my second
echo revealed an ef of approximately 50%
but my cardiologist believes it is a
little less then that due to a condition
called trace mitral regurgitation. What
is trace mitral regurgitation? Is this
common for a 21 year old male with dilated
cardiomyopathy? Am I going to eventually
need a heart transplant? I would
appreciate any information. Thank you. -
