Okay
when I went to the pharmacy to pick up my
pills for the first time I asked the
pharmacist when I should start them. She
said I can start them anytime, cause it'll
mess up my period anyway. So, I was due
to start my period normally on the 17th.
I started spotting on the 18th and now I
seem to be having a light flow. But the
sugar pills don't start for another 4
days. Did I really mess up? I read in
the booklet that it said to start the
sunday after my period... But the lady
said it didn't really matter when I
started my pills. I guess I just wanted
reassurance that my period will even out.
Will I end up with like a two week period
now?

I'm not entirely sure on this, but
I think the pharmacist was wrong.
I'm on the pill also and my gyno
specifically explained to me when to start
them (the sunday during your period
or the first 24 hours during my
next period). As far as I was told, you
have those two options, but I didn't
think you could just start them whenever.
I'm thinking that this pharmacist either
thought that's how they worked or she just
assumed it was like any other pill, you
take it the minute you get them. But I
think she's wrong (don't quote me on it
though!)
if I were you, i'd see my gynecologist
asap.

And I don't think you'll end up with a
two-week period, unless you went off them.

Yeah...I'll call my doctor's office
tomorrow. I guess i'm wondering if I
should just take my pills like normal...
Or if I should stop the one's i'm taking,
take the sugar pills till my period is
over then start a new pack?

I don't know if stopping the pills right
now would be the right thing to do... I
think you should keep taking them until
you get your doctor's opinion, because i'm
thinking that your body is used to them by
now and if you stop them, you can't start
them again and you will have wasted a
whole pack.
