Nerve Damage In Shoulder/numbness In Arm And Hand Posted: 03-20-06 12:12pm
I have had nerve damage in my shoulder for
quite a few years. Recently in addition
to the sharp burning pain I get I have
been experiencing numbness and tingling in
my arm and half of my hand ( the pinkie
and ring finger) as well suckers pain
radiation down my arm. Is there anyone
who can give me some sugestions for
relief. Thank you in advance for your
sugestions. :)

I am not a prfessional, but have been
having a lot of various types of back
pain. To me, your description matches
what I had that my doctor described as
neuropathic pain.
After trial and error, the medication that
has worked wonders for me is a very new
one called "lyrica". You will see a
posting I did recently on this topic. The
subject line mentions neuropathy and
lyrica.
Ask your doctor about it, and whether
he/she thinks it might help.
Personally I had a tingling/burning
sensation of much of my thoracic region.
As I said, it sounds similar to what you
describe in your arm.

Numbness And Tingling Posted: 03-29-06 12:33pm
What you described is typical of a
shoulder problem getting worse with
secondary nerve entrapment in the elbow
and at the brachial plexus. This may even
involve the hip flexors, but
unfortunately, most people look at your
symptoms, not at how your body functions.
This is an important distinction since I
have resolved many obvious problems by
looking at a persons body structure first,
and seeing what they are predisposed to
structurally, and then looking at the
ensuing symptoms.

Thank you for the information. When I
went to the doctor he told me that since
at that time there was no weakness in my
hand or arm that I should just take an
anti-inflammatory and that it should heel
itself in a few weeks. It isn't getting
better and now I am experiencing weakness
in my hand and my pinkie and ring finger
as well as that part of my hand either
gets really cold or really hot. I will
check out your website. Thank you again.
