the Doctor Said "biopsy" - Anyone Had a Uterine Bi Posted: 03-20-06 19:34pm
I have been having problems with irregular
periods since dec. Last month my period
ran from feb 2 - feb 27. My family
doctor did a pelvic exam and ordered an
ultra sound which I had about two weeks
ago.
My doctor then called me last week to tell
me that I have a cyst on my right ovary
and a small fibroid inside my uterus,
nothing to worry about but I should go see
a gynocologist for monitoring of them.
Today I went to see a gynocologist. The
gynocologist said she doesn't think I have
a cyst, in fact she isn't sure what it is.
She said I have a growth thats about 3.5
cm with a stalk that is either attached to
my uterus and laying against my right
ovary or its attached to the ovary and is
just laying against the uterus. Since
she isn't sure what the growth is, she
wants me in for a biopsy on monday.
My mother died from breast cancer and the
thought that whatever it is thats there
could be cancerous just scares the
beejeebies out of me!
I'm praying that whatever it is, its not
cancerous and can be treated pretty easily
(like meds and not surgery).
Anyone here been thru this type of thing
and what were the results?

Hi,
i just had a biopsy about 2 weeks ago
because of irregular paps. The biopsy is
really nothing to be scared of. You may
feel a little pressure on your female
parts. It's nothing that hurts.
:wink: (((don't worry!!))) I also have a
question too-- I was just told that from
my results of the biopsy I have severe
cancer cells in my cervix. The doctor
can perform a colposcopy and hope that the
cancer cells do not return or he can do a
hystorectomy on me. I am worried about
the side effects of the hysto. I am 25
have 3 wonderful children and have the
tubes tide. I feel that my family is
complete. Does anyone have any input on
this?

I was unable to get the biopsy done. My
cervix would not open. The doctor wanted
to know if there was any remote chance I
was pregnant. He said my body is acting
like its pregnant.
I just had an ultra sound three weeks ago
and it didn't show any pregnancy plus my
bf is fixed. So no chance at all.
He said the next step is to do a d and c,
he needs to put me under anthesia and
treat me like I am getting an abortion.
Geeze I sound like fatfamily!
I have my uterus, etc but I do not have
any babies in me and yet my body is acting
like I do. Go figure that one out!
