Syphilis Test Scared
Posted: 03-22-06 16:23pm

It's been two years since I had any sexual activity (back in school and terrible breakup) recently I notice some things that made a reg flag jump in my face. I had normal blood work at the doctors office and it came back great could they pick up syphilis in my regular blood work or is it a different test all together? I had the test done for syphilis today anyways and I am so scared. It's the waiting two days that is pure torture. I am conditioning myself for the worse....If anyone knows the procedure for syphilis it would be so helpful. I would never think my ex would have given me this but most individuals think that....

Any information on the cure for syphilis would be helpful.

Came back negitive...Never will I be so dumb even if I was with him for awhile. That std is very bad to get and severe. I recommend everyone always getting tested for syphilis-it can kill and make one lose their mind-it attacks the brain. It usually goes not recongized since the symptoms can look like the flu. I am lucky and will cherish my health

You should always wear a condom (or he should). This can save you multitudes of ways. I'd say don't have sex until you really get to know him, but sometimes that isn't always what happens.

I'm glad your test was negative!

Help!

I have a problem of my own relating to this but I didn't want to make a new thread about it. I've been dating my boyfriend for a,most four years now. He's the only guy i've ever had sex with and he's had sex with only one other person, but that was probably seven or eight years ago. Last night my boyfriend noticed something at the base of his penis. I don't know if it is a chancre or not but it looks strange, it's small and red, it kind of looks like a cut but not really. In the past few days I noticed my vagina has been a little itchy, but that's about it; I don't have any weird bumps or anything on my vagina.
Could he have syphillis? Could he suddenly have a disease come to surface after all these years? When we first started dating I was checked for all stds and of course I was negative, but my boyfriend has never been checked. I have a gyn appointment next week monday so I am for sure now going to get tested again for everything. Do you think my boyfriend should get tested too? Could he have been cheating on me or could this have happened in a different way?
