I was just curious if the morning after pill could cause you to miss your period?

Yes it can cause your period to be later or even earlier than expected.. But a pregnancy test is always an option, and if you were pregnant you do have other options as well.

no. The purpose of emergency contraception (aka "the morning after pill") is to 1. Keep you from ovulating and 2. Thicken the lining of the uterus so that if fertilization has already occurred, a pregnancy will not result. Thickening the lining could delay your period for a time but you will not miss it entirely. Most .Women actually get their period a little earlier after they have taken emergency contraception. Your period could also be lighter or heavier than normal after taking emergency contraception.

If you have completely missed your period, I would suggest a pregnancy test. If it is negative, wait another few days and see if your period arrives. If it doesn't, you should make an appointment to see your doctor. If you were already pregnant (if the pre-embryo already implanted into the lining of the uterus), emergency contraception will not dislodge or disrupt an established pregnancy. If your pregnancy test comes back positive, you are more than likely pregnant. A good doctor will confirm your pregnancy and then discuss all of your options with you. If you need specific options counseling, your local planned parenthood has sensitive counselors who are trained to give a variety of referrals (abortion and adoption).
