Doc Thought It Was Hemroids~nope It's Colon Cancer Posted: 03-24-06 02:35am
Hi ppl. I'm faithann(27yrs old). I'm new
to this forum. My mom(47yrs old) is the
one with colon cancer. She has been
having a cyst(sp?) like thing by her bum
hole for alil over a yr and it turned in
to a huge hole. They told her over and
over that it's just a hemroid and to deal
with it. Damn I hate jersey doctors.
Anyways, she just could not deal with the
24/7 pain anymore. She had to use the
bathroom in the shower cause she could not
sit. It hurt for her to even lay on her
side. She tried to killer self...Thank
goodness she didn't do a good job of ;)
it! But one of the doc (a new one)
finally said she (mom) has had enough and
we need to do exploritory surgery. And
come to find out she has colon cancer.
And has devoloped a golf ball size
tumar/mass in her vagina. She was told
that she has an apt for march 31 to get
all the info about the 4wk radiation and
6mo (everyday) chemo(sp?)
now here is the problem, i'm the only kid
she has that is worth a caca, ya know.
And we are stationed in germany. We have
been given the option for them(a.F.) to
fly us back for the time being so I can
help my mom or they will have us stationed
to the closest base which is only the next
town over if it turns out to be terminal.
The air force is really good to thier ppl!
Is there a chance that it could be
terminal?? I don't want to go in to
details but from what she has been telling
me...She is falling apart.

Only the doctors know if it is terminal or
not. You said ur 24 years old, if I were
u I would book an appointment with the
doctor and talk to the doctor about it.
I remember I was sooooo concerned about my
dads health and I felt as if he was hiding
something from the family, and I was so
tempted to book an appt with his doc and
see if everything was alright, but by then
his doctor retired and I did see his
doctor @ home and he seemed fine and didnt
say there was something or anything for
that matter to worry about it. So
discuss this is with ur mama's dr and her!

Hi,
only you can make that decision about
coming back or neare home, but as said
before talk with your mom, and ask her to
be open wit you. So many people are
afraid to listen to their loved ones
fears, but the best thing for a person to
do is listen.
There ar so many dif types of treatments
available now, that1 should never give up
hope.
The Dr. Told me I had, had colon cancer
for 5 to 10 yrs, and they got it all , and
I did not require chemo or radiation, so
there is always hope.
Keep us updated, god bless you all
