Do I Have an Eating Disorder? Is It Bad Enough for a Treatm Posted: 03-24-06 19:15pm
ive been cutting for the past 2
years...and ive been dealing with eating
issues for at least the last year... im
not sure if i have an eating disorder
though since im not underweight at all. i
dont eat for sometimes 2 weeks and then
after that 2 weeks i start bingeing for a
few days like crazy and purge right after
for about 30 minutes just making sure ive
gotten everything out. ive been thinking
about applying for Mercy Ministries.. but
im not sure if im bad enough to go into a
inpatient treatment center do you think i
i have an eating disorder and do you
thinkt hat that treatment center would be
to much for me?
It seems likely that you have an eating
disorder... probably bulimia. Bulimia is
very similar to a chemical addiction
because it alters your physical chemistry.
According to your weight, height, age and
sex your eating disorder hasn’t yet
permanently caused damage to your body.
This does not mean that your case is not
serious! On the contrary, bulimia can
only get worse; it is a progressive
disease. Before you decide upon a
treatment center, you can seek medical
help from your GP and/or a mental health
professional. They can help diagnose the
stage of the disease and recommend
treatment. Either way, you can begin the
process of healing. And don't worry; you
will get the proper care and treatment
that you need.
