Stopping the Birth Control Pill, Help.. Posted: 01-04-04 09:02am
I was on micro gynon birth control pill
for about a year, I finished my pack had
normal period couple day after this was
18th nov, then didnt sart aking the pill
again, but hae had no period since, I have
had unprotected sex though.
I took hpt on at end of dec and was
negative, is it possible I am pregnant so
soon after stopping pill???, I feel
bloated, tired, cramping pains in abdomen,
which are like im about to start period
had these for week and still no period, I
even have the spots I get bfore period no
period though, I am also crying a lot at
least bit thing and having mood swings.
Can anyone offer any advice if its
pregnancy not shown on hpt or my body
playing tricks on me???

Anytime you have unprotected sex, you run
the risk of getting pregnant. The fact
that you have not had a period yet could
be because of stopping the pill, or you
could in fact be pregnant.
As for the testing, some women may never
get a positive result from a home
pregnancy test. You could very well be
pregnant, but you may not be producing
enough of the pregnancy hormone (hcg) for
the home pregnancy test to come out
positive. Your best option would be to
request a blood test to confirm/deny
pregnancy from your doctor. A blood test
is more reliable when it comes to picking
up the hormones.

I started bleeding so I take it thats a
clear enough sign I aint pregnant but

It can take a while for birth control pill
to get out of your system. I have been
off the pill for 18 months and still have
not had a normal period. Its called post
pill amanorrhea. Everyone is different
though.
