Is Irregular Blood Pressure Indicative of Underlying Problem
Posted: 03-27-06 12:48pm

hi, I recently had a checkup at my local clinic. The nurse took my blood pressure and commented that it was pretty irregular. My blood pressure reading was 158/51 which, having looked on the internet quickly, seems high for the systolic reading and low for the diastolic reading. What does this combination of readings mean and is it indicative of any underlying problems. I had my blood pressure last checked when I had my wisdom teeth out a couple of months ago in hospital and my blood pressure was 135/73 then.

Thanks, Matthew

You can measure your blood pressure at your General Practitioner's office on a manometer that uses liquid metal higrum(Hg). Then, you can take your two other readings and present a history to your doctor for examination and perusal.
