What is Causing Chronic Vomitting? Posted: 03-27-06 17:23pm
I have cronic vomiting and have been
dealing with thus for almost two years
now. I am currently an UCLA patient trying
numerous drug therapys, they believe that
my nervous system is in shock and thats
whats causing the problem. I do maintain
some food but only enough to keep me from
drastically dropping weight. Other than
thinking I'm belimic is their something
else that this could be, considering all
ultrasounds, scans and every test except a
gastric emptying study has come back
normal? I am unable to preform the empty
study due to the fact that I usually only
hold down food for about 30min at most and
that is painful. I hear these comercials
about people who coukdn't eat and were on
feeding tubs and baby food and now this
new pill helps them, the disease starts
with a 'c' but I'm not sure what it's
called. Any ideas would help.
Thanks for your time.
An endoscopic gastroscopy is the most
relevant diagnostic procedure for
conditions like yours. An endoscopic
gastroscopy helps identify organic
disorders of the stomach (hiatus hernia,
peptic ulcer, gastritis, tumors,
diverticles, etc.). It is possible that
your vomiting problem also has a
psychiatric element/origin.
