Question: Will a hemorrhoid heal on it's own? I have an external hemorrhoid but is causing me no symptoms and is not bleeding and does not hurt. Will the distended vein which caused the hemorrhoid heal and return to normal or will treatment or surgery be required to get rid of it?

A distended vein that causes hemorrhoids will not heal and return to normal spontaneously (on its own). But you don’t need any medical treatment for your hemorrhoids until you start experiencing pain or bleeding. Surgery is reccommended when other conservative treatments fail.
