First Signs of Bipolar, And Such...? Posted: 03-27-06 23:04pm
I know, you all must get this a lot, but
i'm begining to think that I am bipolar
and like to hear what other people were
like, feeling when they first thought they
were bipolar.
I'll feel very unexpectedly happy, almost
surreal at times, jumpy and giddy. I
won't feel like sleeping (which I love).
I'll just be bouncing off the walls, and
just a like a year ago, I would never have
been like that.
Then i'll feel very, very depressed, and
i've gone in and out of little bits of
depression for the last few years, and
have become rather used to it.
I'll vary between these two sometimes
landing in between (not very offten), and
I can go back and forth a few times daily,
where as most infomation i've read has
said much longer periods of time for the
phases.
Also, I have quite a bit of a caffeine
habit, offten i'll consume large amounts
of caffeine when i'm depressed and feeling
very slow-ish. I'll sit there and drink
double espresso's, a few energy drinks,
maybe a caffeine pill or something
similar-all inside of maybe 8 hours (at
night).

Wow, you sound just like I did when I was
in my early 20's, i'm now in my early 40's
and life is much better for me, I must
say.
I know what you mean that most information
doesn't speak much about rapid cyclers,
people who can bounce back and forth from
mania to depressed in a matter of hours,
even minutes, sometimes! Luckily, the
form of bp I had/have is more along the
lines of cyclothymia, but I know I had
full-blown bp at one time of my life, it
just never recurred that severely ever
again, thank god.
Listen, go see a professional. They won't
push you into a diagnosis but rather they
will ask you the key questions to help you
pinpoint the problem. You have nothing to
lose but the bad feelings.
