I notice many signs go undected in a
stroke-because we all think "i'm making to
much of it." or "i don't want to look
stuipd in the er." many die because they
have no idea they are even having a
stroke
many of my friends don't even know the
signs of a stroke and I didn't either. I
woke up in the middle of the night with
weakness and pins and needles all over the
right side of my face. I was so scared
and didn't go to the er for fear of
looking foolish. I thought I was too
young to experience anything bad (poor
judgement) my doctor said I am lucky to be
alive.
Here are the signs:
sudden numbness or weakness of the face,
arm or leg, especially on on side of the
body
sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
sudden trouble walking dizziness, loss of
balance or coordination
sudden severe headache with no known
cause
sudden confusion trouble speaking or
understanding
also know your blood pressure-don't wait
to go to the doctor go to cvs or walgreens
and know it by heart. I bought one and
since I started walking and playing tennis
it has dropped down.
Eat fruits-oranges are really good I read
for prevention. Drink tons of water and
stay clear of caffeine/they believe
caffeine was tied to my tia.
If you have any doubt if you are having a
stroke call 911 and when the ambulance
comes they will to a ekg and know for
sure-
also go to the website
www.Strokeassociation.Org<
/a> they will send you material.
I am lucky to be alive and now I am
determine to get the word out that it can
happen to anyone. I am 32 and thin and
thought I was healthy..Wrong!! I am
hoping to get walk-a-thon in chicago to
help raise money for stroke awarness.
Thank you
