I had an ultrasound that was $600. The one at the clinic where I mainly go was just $250. Shows the local hospital is greedy!
I am officially overdue! My due date was march 22nd. I wanted to induce when I saw the doctor yesterday, but then changed my mind this morning. He said there was a 60-70% chance of cesarean section although the baby's head is head down in the pelvis, it's not "fully engaged" meaning it floats away when he pressed on my cervix. Ok, when you get to that point girls, having you cervix manually probed really hurts!
I've been 60% effaced for a week, and am holding at 1cm. I decided to hold off on inducing (costs another $421.00) for a week. Maybe something will naturally progress? Maybe they have the due date off by a week???
I am self employed, and the cost of a c-section is $11,171.85 that includes the local, and epidural........It's all a money making racket!! My health plan with regence blue shield of idaho, I have a $5,000. Seperate maternity deducatable. In addition, there's my regular $2,000. Deductable. Which means we are responsible for paying $7,000. Out of pocket! Then, and only then then does the health plan kick in, and foot the bill for 80% of all bills.
Oh yeah, and the doctor's delivery fee is $2,500. So needless to say it's all going to be an arm and a leg in the end. Never mind my husband and I are already $24,000. In debt.
Anyway, just all put good thoughts into the baby coming soon, and naturally!
