Irregular, Painfull Periods Posted: 03-28-06 16:31pm
Im 24 years old and ive always had heavy
periods, but recently my periods are
worse, I get my period every month and a
half and it's very heavy and i'm in
extreme pain in lower abdomen and back.
I've also been getting a bit too much
blood clots and it's worrying me. I
haven't gone or asked a doctor yet, I was
just wondering if anyone else has
experienced this.
Thankx

Yep! My problem is fibroids. Or so they
think. Unless I want to go through
testing to rule out endometriosis, there
is also that possibility. Either way, i'm
living with it for now.
You should see your doctor, it might be
easily taken care of. Birth control pills
work wonders for lightening the flow and
easing the cramps!

I have had illregular periods (12years)all
of my life they tell me its because I was
sexually malested when I was a child and
they say its due to stress I thought I was
back to normal cause from jan 05 to nov 05
I was doing great have periods almost 4
days apart from when I should start well I
didnt have a period at all in dec 2005 and
then started in jan 6 2006 and then feb 05
2006 and I havent had a period since I did
take a test but its neg so thats a good
thing also my left breast has been
leaking
and I have been feeling kinda sick in the
morning but I dont feel preg cause I knew
I was pregnant with my first and second
child and I dont
feel that way now its like I know my body
but right now my body is like
all out of sorts and I have had dnc and
ultrasounds done but they cant
seem to know what the problem is so they
figure its due to stress thats
all they keep telling me so I dont know I
just know my body and its not
working properly right now anyway if im
counting my first day of my last
period right now im at a 52 day cycle and
thats crazy and I should have
started my period 24 days ago going by the
5th of march ...
I used to be on birth control which is
very bad for me due to that I would
bleed 28 days and then go off 2 days and
then bleed again but I think because I was
so young that had something to do with it
but im gonna go back on the pill to see if
it will help me since im older now
i also have ibs so that dont help none
either . I also have alot of abdominal
pain and cramps that shoot pains in to my
legs some times my back hurts as well if
you have any advice please let me know
thanks so much ....

Painful Irregular Periods Posted: 04-21-06 07:39am
I suffered with painful and irregular
periods from when I was 14. I have 3
children and they got worst every time .I
have a very small fibroid but the hospital
told me that it wasnt that, I am just one
of those women who suffers with heavy
periods which runs in my family. I
recently had a myrena coil fitted (i think
thats how its spelt) and it was the best
thing ever, instead of giant clots which
were painful too pass there is hardly any
loss and the pain is next to nothing and I
can go out with a tampon on and not worry
that I will flood and have to go home I
know longer pass out when I am on my
period and instead of being on for 2 weeks
its 7 days and every 4 weeks it does take
about 6 to 9 months for it to work
properly and in the beginning your
hormones are everywhere but it was the
best thing I ever did and it only has to
be changed every 5 years hope this helps

Yeah I understand that I finally started
back on birthcontrol and its
not going so well the or----lo it probley
works on some people but
not for me they make you start on the day
you start your period well I
did that and I bled for like 7 days well I
was taking it and I didnt even
make it to the green pills I was in the
light blue and I started my period
again and I didnt get off of it 8 days
later so im in the dark blue now
and fixing to get into the green so im
gonna have a 3rd period which
totally sucks my dr wants me to finish
this pack and then she is going to
put me on somthing stronger I dont want to
get my tubes tide due to the
fact I have spoken to tons of people who
had that done they say you are
in worse shape then be 4 + I know two
people that have had it done and
they ended up getting a tubel pregnancy
and they are davastaded this one
lady's husband I know started going off on
the dr because he was like this
is suppose to be a birthcontrol and he is
really upset cause he wants his baby and
she has to pretty much have to abort it
because it cant live in a
tube but he is pretty upset about it which
I dont blame him I would be too
and I dont want to go through that its
pretty scarry if you ask me hopefully
this next pack which I have no clue what
it is yet but i'll keep you posted keep me
posted and let me know how that mirena
goes I got that in the paper but im kinda
scared about them sticking things in me
lol no offense..

Periods Posted: 05-15-06 11:44am
There are several things that will help
relieve discomfort:
while menstruating, refrain from drinking
caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea,
cola or cocoa.
Avoid stress. Relaxation and massage can
work wonders.
Exercise and staying fit can help prevent
painful periods.
Keep your abdomen warm.
Finally, use pain-relieving medicines if
necessary.
Remember that it is always best to consult
your doctor about your specific concerns.
In some cases, painful periods are
hereditary. If a woman has painful
periods, her daughters may later be
affected in the same way.
Hope this helps

I agree, it is heck being a woman
sometimes. Different things work for
different females. What really helped
me with the cramps was to take about a
half of a teaspoon of ginger with some hot
water and drink it down after it cooled
off, put your feet up for about 1 hour
even though the ginger kind of made me gag
it sure helped with the cramps and that
was before all of this other stuff they
have now. You also have a right to get
a second opinion from another Dr. You
must feel what the best thing for you to
do. I am not a dr but it sure helped me
