Q: Cramping At 5 Weeks

I'm about 5 weeks along and i've been having period like cramping for a week or so off and on. Lastnight I woke up to bad cramps a few times. I have an 8 yr old and a 4 yr old, but I do not remember having these cramps early on with them. Just wondering if it is normal or not.
Thanks, renae
