Q: How Big Should I Be?

A lot of people in my family and others who knew me when I was pregnant with my first child say that my belly is big for six months. I was barely showing at six months with my daughter and I had only gained about 12 pounds. Now i'm showing a lot and I have already gained 21 pounds.
On the other hand some people who did not know me the first time say oh you're so small. It kind of offends me a little but I dont worry about it too much. I just want to know if anyone is going through this or has gone through this. Should you gain a certain amount to weight or what?

Hi Latoya
No girl don't worrie about what other people say.... They said I was small too, and that was last month now this month (36 weeks) they say "girl you are gettin big" so just dont mind them..... Every pregnancy is different, now about the weight I read in different books that it is ok to gain up to 35-40 pounds in the whole pregnancy and the most weight that you are goin to get is on the end, thats what happen to me . First I lost 20p. Because I was feeling sick and could'n even eat a cracker I was 132p and now in the 8th month I am 151p . I am sure you are ok you don't need to be stressed about that .

When you are pregnant with your first child, it takes longer for your uterus to grow, therefore you won't show as quickly. You will show more quickly with your second pregnancy because your uterus is a little more elastic and stretches easier. If your doctor says you look fine and that the baby's fine, do not worry about what other people say.
