I had a partial hysterectomy 11 months ago
and have continued to suffer from vaginal
bleeding which varies from a brownish
discharge to a bright red mini flood
enough to soak through a pad.
My consultant has tried to use progestrone
to stop the bleeding but only with minor
sucess and a MRI has revealed the cuff is
too thin to be lasered.
I am now facing further surgery to remove
the cervix. I would like to know where I
can find further info on the pros and cons
of this surgery so that I can make an
informed decision on the surgery. I cannot
seem to find any information on the net so
would be grateful for any info you can
provide. Many Thanks

Given your age and risk factors, you might
consider a total hysterectomy with an
adnexectomy. At 49 there is an increased
risk that a malignant disease could be
causing vaginal bleeding.
