Depression And Pain... Someone Give Me An Answer Please.
Posted: 03-30-06 21:02pm

Hey guys, i'm an 18 year old male, and to tell you the truth, i'm horrified. I'm never happy anymore, I feel like the days keep going by faster and faster, everything... Now for my question... Ever since my girlfriend's mother died, it's been hell for me. I'm constantly worried over heart attack, heart failure, palpitations, the works. If anything goes wrong, it's instantly my heart. The question is, first of all, if you're depressed, do you get tired easy? I was playing basketball last night and ran around for a bit, and usually i'm not tired, but this time it took me forever to calm down and get rest from this episode, and during it I had three panic attacks... Mainly because my heart was beating fast, and I thought I would have a heart attack or something. And today, ever since I got back from school, i've felt like I wanted to mope around, constantly checking my heart and waiting for a pain to come through me, i've done had an ekg, and it was perfectly fine. And I find it hard to breathe, not because I can't, but my mind just seems like it doesn't feel like it... I'm going on day by day wondering what's wrong with me and if my heart is really ok. Can depression cause pains in the chest and such? I also have anxiety, panic attacks really bad, ocd, the works, again... Can depression cause all of this? Please, someone give me a reply soon... Thanks...

Depression can make you extreamly tired, and make it so that you don't want to do things you used to love. Make you sleep many extra hours. I would suggest going to your doctors, and getting checked out many people do have depression.. Good luck

Also if you are having a lot of panic attacks, that can make you very tired. I used to get panic attacks a lot and once they passed I would feel very worn out. I definately recommend finding a therapist of some sort and make sure that it is someone you like and are comfortable with. Sometimes just the relief of having someone whom you trust and know is educated on these things is enough to start making you feel better. Also I agree that one big sign of depression is loss of interest in things that you used to enjoy doing, lack of motivation, inablity to feel emotion, like not feeling excited about things you know that you should feel excited about and of course being tired, very tired in some cases. Again, I would try to start seeing someone asap.

Heart attacks and stuff?
Well, everyone's scared of dying, really, but im kinda getting used to seeing it this way:
"to the well-organised mind, death can be the next adventure."
and yes, that was dumbledore from harry potter ahaha, I love the series. Anyways, yeah, just think about it....Death cant be all that bad, I mean im pretty sure there's something after life and I have read an article on it in like grade 7 or something for english (we were forced to, but it was really interesting.) and the people who have died and come back to life arent scared of death anymore. The only reason why people are scared about it is because we know so little about it and probably will never mind out its full meaning. But I doubt it's scary.
