I wish this wasn't saturday night because
I would advise going to your doctor and
getting a strong muscle relaxant, maybe
even a shot of valium if there is such a
thing. If you don't have access to this
type of medication, take an
anti-inflammatory (800 mg ibuprofen), then
lie down with both ice and moist heat (use
whichever one feels the best for you).
Ice on the painful side and heat on the
other side is great for me. ****do
not******* try and force/pop your jaw back
into joint.
Relax that lower jaw as much as possible,
correct your posture (chin down, shoulders
back) and concentrate relaxing one muscle
at a time (from top of head to back or
even lower). After a while if it hasn't
worked, open your mouth as relaxed as
possible, then a little further and using
your hands on each side of jaw, wiggle
your jaw back and forth and down very
gently. Also, massage along the jaw line
gently and with more like pressure point
massage, massage the neck muscles
(especially the sterno...) and press any
knots you feel.
Well, those are all my ideas. I do hope
and pray that something helps. Be very
careful about force-popping the joint as
continuous popping can cause damage to
both the joint and surrounding soft
tissues.
