Is Occasional Bleeding 4 Years after a Hysterectomy Normal? Posted: 04-03-06 10:19am
August 29th will be four years since my
hysterectomy and I still will have an
occosasional bleeding. It has no
correlation with intercorse. Just out of
the blue. I have been to the doctor for
this once and he said it was due to
dryness. About a week before and a week or
so after I find myself more depressed. Do
you think it is more hormonal? If I have
no parts should I bleed at all?

It is very important that your
gynecologist ascertain the origin of
bleeding immediately. If your ovaries were
removed along with the uterus during the
hyserectomy... then a lack of hormones can
cause vaginal dryness, greater
vulnerability for vaginal infections, and
occasional vaginal bleedings. First,
however, your gynecologist must exclude
the possible presence of tumors.
