Hello
i have always had very regular periods (i
can normally pinpoint the exact day, and
it will be right) for 7 years, with my
cycles being 28-29 days.
Well, my last "normal" period was on
february 25th.
On march 17th I began spotting very
lightly (keep in mind, I have never
spotted in between periods before) and I
was caught off guard by it since my period
wasn't due till march 25th. Well, I
continued to have light spotting until the
23rd- then it stopped from the 24th- 26th.
It continued, with the blood being a
little redder on the 27th...So I thought
"well, this must be my actual period now",
but it was very light- like spotting. I
usually have rather heavy periods and go
through 4-5 tampons a day. This was only
using 1 a day, and usually not even
"filling" the whole thing. So, I spotted
until april 2nd.
I'm not on any birth control or any
medications. I am sexually active, and we
use condoms.
What on earth is going on??

Are you having any kind of discharge
besides the spotting? Sometimes the
discharge tells us something.
I don't know how old you are but if you
are over thirty, it could be fibroids
causing the spotting. They are totally
normal.
I personally have a condition called
uterine hyperplasia and displayed the same
symptoms you have but this condition is
uncommon and very rare in women under the
age of forty.
Basically its the walls of the uterus are
thickening due to hormones gone haywire.
I am getting a biopsy in may (this
condition can lead to uterine cancer if
not treated) and then being put on meds if
its early enough not to require surgery.
Here are the women most prone to uterine
hyperplasia that I have read about.
Women who are
white,
over age 40
have not had more than one pregnancy
are overweight (the more overweight the
higher the risk)
are diabetic
an early warning sign besides the light
spotting is watery discharge and later a
yellow pus looking discharge.
Anyhow I think i'm trying to say there are
different reasons that can be causing the
spotting between your cycles. Give us
more information about you and I am sure
someone on here will be more helpful.

Well, I am not over 30...I'm only 19.
I had not had any discharge while I was
spotting- but now that it has stopped I
have noticed a very small amount of
whiteish-clear discharge.
As for more info about me- i'm not on any
medications or birth control, so it can't
be that that is causing this.

Hey mitbee, maybe it is a urinary tract
infection. Ask for a urine test and they
will see if there is white blood cells or
red blood cells present. It would be good
to get a pap smear and std testing. I am
experiencing the spotting too, and I have
always been regular. My mom had a
hysterectomy bc of fibroids in her utures.
These are benign tumors that are
monitored until you start having problems.
For you it is likely a urinary tract
infection and can be cleared with
antibiotics. God bless
