Really Bad Pains Under My Right Ribs Posted: 04-04-06 08:13am
I am a 21 year old female who is generally
fit and healthy but since I had my little
boy nearly 2 years ago ive experienced
these pains which get so unbearable I cant
even pick my son up.
When they first started the pain went in a
band around my body just under my rib cage
and then going all the way round my back
the pain then was just a dull ache. But
since then the pain has shortened and is
just under neath my rib cage on the right
side.
I have had blood test done and nothing,
paramedics have been out to me on severly
occasion and they seemed to think it was
just a water infection.
I had to have the paramedics out again on
sat 2/4/06 and this time they said it was
gall stones, I made an emergancy
appointment at the doctors on the monday
and they seemed to think it was a gastric
hernia. They took a water sample to send
off to the labs for testing.
I have got to ring back tomorrow for the
results hopefully something will show up!
At first I thought this pain was my ribs
goin back after havin my son as the pain
was all around my front and back, I have
also been told that it is a muscle
spasm.
I just wont sum answers now as it is
really causing me problems having to have
time off work and arranging for some one
to come round and take care of me and my
son as when ive got this pain I cant even
move.
The only way the pain is bearable is when
I sit in the living room chair leaning
back on several pillows with my feet up
right.
The only way ive been able to describe
this pain is like a permenate contraction
and like my organs inside have swelled and
r pushing out of my body.
I havent got n e other problems with my
health I am fit and healthy otherwise so I
just dont understand.
If n e 1 has n ideas please let me know

I wish I had an idea, but sounds like I am
having similar problem. Ever since I had
my son 9 mo ago...It started as pain under
my right ribcage then also on left and in
back. Kind of like you described, feels
like a band of pain. I had my gallbladder
out a few weeks ago, which helped somewhat
with the right sided pain but not the left
at all. I did not have stones, it was
just not functioning propery per a hida
scan. Did you get your results? It is
soo annoying, and definately affects
everyday life!

Yes got my results and nothing goin for a
scan tomoz hopefully that should show sum
thing. Was up again all night with the
pain last nite and when u have a full time
job and a child to look after on ur own
its hard but thanks for your reply

Are you going for a hida scan? I can
relate...Son and full time job here too.
