False Labor

Well, I found out what happened to me
yesterday. I was in false labor which
explains why I was such a b*tch. I
talked to my doc cuz I felt really crappy
and thought I was coming down with
something or had eaten something bad.
When I told her my symptoms she said that
I was having braxton hicks/false labor.
I was really teed off cuz there was
nothing I could do about it and of course
no baby is going to result from it....But
i'm okay today, even though she says that
this could keep happening right up until I
go into real labor...Grrrr!

it wasn't really painful. It was just
extremely uncomfortable, it felt like a
band of pressure on my stomach and back
and I felt "heavy/achy" in my pelvic
bones. I thought like I said that I had
eaten something bad and I truly felt like
I was coming down with the flu. I hope
it doesn't get any worse than that because
i'll be a super b*tch if I think i'm in
labor, go to the hospital and then get
sent home...

Don't worry or let it upset you, this
happens to a lot of pregnant females that
is why my 1st son was on it's way out when
the time was happening, he did not believe
me but the dr sure told him off it was
even too late to give me anything for pain
until I was being stitched up after having
a 10 lb 2 oz baby boy.
Try to get some rest!

How frequently would you guys say it
happens? I'm trying to get a clue about
what i'm going to have to go through.
The doc is saying that it can keep
happening or not until I go into real
labor. Which could be anytime. I have
to go in for an appt today to check on
m&m and I have to schedule my next
ultrasound. I'll try to schedule it for
next week...

I am glad someone does, I am not feeling
too loved lately. I would really like to
experience all of that stuff. But I need
to do what is the best for me and the
baby.
I hope everything goes well for you.....I
only wish you the best. But I heard
.B.H. Are a health forum. I guess I
will get to find out when I get closer to
the big day.
Luv you too.

Trust me you don't want this. You simply
can not concentrate on anything important
and you turn into super b*tch. I feel
like I should have an "s" on my chest or
something. I don't like anyone that I
have to deal with in person right now.
Least of all my doctor because she's the
one who told me that there's nothing to be
done about it. And I still have to
work...

I have heard that they dont' really hurt
but they are just really crule to the
pregnant woman. It's not bad enough that
we have this really large skoot in us and
we are very heavy and tired and we don't
need false labor. Not too much longer
for you.....But I am sure that it sounds
like an eternaty. I have like infinity
left to go.. It will all be fine.
I can't wait to see ur little m&m.

i think it depends on the person.
Medical books say that they don't hurt.
But what the heck do they know. I've had
some people tell me they hurt like crazy.
For me they don't really hurt, they are
just extremely uncomfortable. It feels
like I have an elastic tube around my
middle and the tube is getting tighter and
tighter. Not really pain, just very
uncomfortable pressure. Plus the baby
(or my adbdomen or whatever) feels very
heavy. Like a weight is going to drop.
Warm baths help. Sometimes water helps.
Getting up when i'm sitting (or vice
versa) helps too. I feel okay today
though. My doc thinks that I keep
getting them bcos i'm overtired,
overstressed or overworked (they keep
happening in the afternoons). I can't
wait for this to be over! Hurry up
m&m!
I got my cradle today. I'm going to take
it home with me to refinish. I'm
wondering what color I should do. It's
an oak finish. Should I strip it and
refinish it with the same color or should
I go natural or white? The baby's room
(when it's actually finished) will be
layette blue (dutch boy) with white trim.
All of his picture frames are white.
But his bookshelf is oak finish. I have
a desk in his room too, and it's oak
finish as well. But I could just as
easily refinish everything another
color... What do you think, genipher?

Hhhhhhmmmmm, I would keep every thing one
color like the oak or the white. I like
oak colored furnature so I think you could
strip it and go with the oak color again.
But if you really feel like it you can
strip everything and do a white finish and
just acent the room in white. But that
way sounds like a lot of work to me.
Just to strip the changing table took
forever, I started to get really faint
and dizzy, so make sure the room or the
place you do it in is very well
ventalated. You don't want to be
inhailing in all them damn fumes.
For a boy I would do the blue with the oak
color, so I would go with that. Like my
baby's room is lavendar with a natural
wood finish. So I do like the lighter
for a girl and a darker for a boy. But
it's totally up to you. What color are
you doing the bedding?? Blue too?

Sunflower_pie81, who did you hear this
from, a man, lol, only kidding to me, a
lot of it was the pressure but I was soooo
big! No, it is not as badd as the real
thing but it is not great either like was
said you are tired and stressed and you
feel like no one understands and you feel
miserable and you are not comfortable.
Tigresacanela24, please be careful
painting when you are pregnant as the
paint fumes are not good for the
pregnancy, yes, color is good in a
nursery, I was always into off white and
some antiquing(sp) boarders of coarse I do
not know if they do that anymore as this
was along time ago and beings the 1st was
a boy I put a blue, green, beige top like
thing over the top, I know it probably
does not sound good but it really turned
out great, at least a lot of people
thought it did, my husband at the time
built the cradle and the father of my
children.
Good luck to all!

I don't really know I was just going off
of what I have heard, I havn't gotten that
far yet. However as far as being
uncomfortable, I so totally am. I got
into bed last night and finally got
comfortable (well as good as I could) and
then relalized that I had to pee. I
started crying and my husband was like
"what now? God, calm down and go and then
come back to bed and you'll be fine." so
yes I know that people (men) dont' really
understand.
I will figure out what they are like
pretty soon. I am driving myself
crazy....Wishing I was as far along as
some of you ladies are. Ack
