Any Solutions to Stopping Diarrhoea And Is This Right?? Posted: 04-05-06 11:42am
I am so glad I have found this site as it
has helped me already to feel less alone
but I have a question. I had a total
colectomy nearly 10 years ago now with
temporary ileostomy and reversal (j pouch
I think). Ever since I have had
diarrhoea which I understand why but have
tried everything under the sun to try and
bulk things up but nothing seems to work.
My main problem is at night when I have
to get up between 2 (good night) and 8 or
more times which leaves me really tired -
I would give anything to be able to sleep
through the night!
Also, and this is hard to write as so
embarrassing! Ever since my surgery I
seem to have some sort of leaking (faeces)
throughout the day when my poo seems to
come out my vagina both when I need the
loo and when I feel I don't! I have
spoken many times to my surgeon about this
who said this can't happen as obviously
the 2 areas aren't connected and has done
tests as well which haven't shown any
link. I think he thinks I am going mad
now and I have stopped asking him about
this.
I hope someone can give me some guidance
on this as it is driving me mad with worry
and no one seems to understand. I think
if I can solve or improve the diarrhoea
this would help as the few times my poo is
firmer this leaking doesn't happen as
much.
