Swollen Lymph Node In Neck Posted: 04-06-06 02:42am
From the time I was 12 until the time I
was 17, I had frequent chest infections.
I had pneumonia a few times and bronchitis
a few times too, I would get seriously ill
maybe twice or three times a year. Since
I was 16 (almost 20 now) I have had a
somewhat swollen gland under the right
side of my jaw, not big enough to be
visible but bigger than the other one on
the other side of my jaw. I also have a
history of environmental allergies. No
cancer like symptoms, just wondering if I
should do anything about it. I was
wondering if lymph nodes can scar and
become permanently larger due to frequent
infection? Or if allergies can cause
swollen glands? Also if a gland can just
be larger than normal but not dangerous?
Thanks,
a.

Hey, i've been feeling my lymph node in my
neck lately and its behind my ear then u
go down a bit... Its been there for about
4 years and I haven't had any serious
health problems .... Im still young. Ok
but I was wondering too if a lymph node
can be a little bigger than normal and
still be o.K?? It worries me.

Anytime something seems out of the
ordianry (swollen or discolored)etc, I
have learned to have it looked over by my
physican. Lymph nodes are nothing to take
for granted. I would much rather a doctor
tell me ,"hey, you are fine", than to let
it go and then find out later I had
something I should have had looked at. I
do hope this is nothing, as you are very
young and glands do swell! Keep us
posted!
